Day 273 Día 273

Peter was testing his fly fishing gear. Ran into this guy when I was leaving Nimbus Dam and we chatted for a while. He said he was enjoying practicing his fly fishing techniques although he had not caught anything. Still I was envious of his day.

Pedro tratando de pescar. El señor no había atrapado ningún pez pero me dijo que todavía estaba gozando su día. Me dio celos que yo no pude hacer lo mismo.

A beautiful bird posed for me until it got tired and decided to fly away.

Un lindo pájaro que posaba un poco y después se puso a vuelo.

Day 163 Día 163

Went over to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery where I noticed and photographed things that were new. The first two pictures are of the Hazel Avenue Widening Project (Phase I).

Fuí a la piscifactoría de Nimbus donde ví y fotografe cosas que estan pasando. Las primeras dos fotos son del Projecto para ampliar la avenida Hazel (primera fase)

A small bridge has been created for working on the overpass.

Un puentecito ha sido creado para trabaja en el puente de arriba.
This fish ladder usually has water covering the wooden splitters. I can now see where the salmon move up the ladder during their spawning.
Los peces (más salmones que nada) suben a esta escalera que siempre esta llena de agua, ahora no, pero podemos ver los hoyos donde los salmones suben para poner sus huevos.

Another project; this one is to help the steelhead and salmon spawn. It seems that on an annual basis (more or less) rocks are moved below Nimbus Dam to help with the spawning. These Deere trucks are dropping off rocks that has helped keep the spawning Salmon numbers up for the past few years.

Otro projecto; este es para ayudar a peces cuándo ponen sus huevos cada año. Estos camiones Deere mueven piedras que ayudan a los peces poner sus huevos cada año. Parace que ha ayudado ha que los salmones y otros peces aumenten en su población.

Found a new view point in Rancho Cordova to take nature pictures from. This is overlooking Nimbus Dam towards the Sierras where you can see some snow on the mountaintops.

Encontré un nuevo punto de vista en Rancho Cordova para tomar fotos de la naturaleza. Aquí podemos ver la Represa Nimbus hacia las Sierra Madre dónde todavía se puede ver nieve en las montañas.

I'm starting a second year of posting a daily picture. This is the first post for the second year and this is day two I just didn't know if I should start a second blog for this so I'm running the same stuff on this and the alvarez6.blogspot.com site for a few days until I figure this thing aout.
